There's Nothing Like the Comfort of a Great Book
Tomorrow we'll be talking about books, sharing our favorites and giving them a quick overview. Be prepared to show yours to the class, and if you can't get your hands on it, at least be able to tell us a little bit about it, the author and why you enjoyed it.
We'll be writing our Reading Territories, and as you think about the kind of reading you enjoy, you may notice that your reading interests may be very similar to your Writing Territories. (For example, I couldn't leave my pets off either list.)
If you are still looking for book titles, check out this book award link. It will take you to lists of award winners, and I've gotten lots of ideas there.
We will visit the library tomorrow in small groups, but I'm hoping that you have an idea of what you are looking for before you go. Book sharing (and I still need to show the Power Point in 2nd block - sorry) will help. If you already know what you want to read and have it, bring it with you!

I like the puppy, he's sooo adorable! My mom is excited about me reading Gone With The Wind, it was her favorite book growing up. I have a question, does the book that we talk about tomorrow need to be our favorite book, or the book we plan to do for independent reading?
Good question, Jessie! The book you share tomorrow can be either your favorite or one that you are planning to read. Either way, it will help each of us compile a list of what we might want to read. Thanks for the comment!
Oops, I spelled your name with an "e," and I can't edit my comment. Sorry, Jessi!
It's o.k. I get that all the time (my cousin still spells my name that way even though she's been told there's no "e" for the past 12 years, it really kind of amusing.) By the way, I'm in your 3rd block class. I just thought of one more question. I don't know a whole lot about the author, is that o.k.? I know a little from the information I gathered off of the DVD stories of her life while working on Gone With the Wind, but that's it. I hope it will work. Good night. See ya tomorrow.
Hello Mrs. James,
I've found that my book is very different from the movie, but I like the book just as much. Me and Jennifer are always arguing over our different views of Scarlett O'Hara. The only thing we agree on about the movie is that Ashley is a wimp. Anyways, I just thought I'd get on and tell you how much I enjoy my book, I hope your having a good evening.
Jessi
this is just a test
